From initial audit to full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance
The Challenge
CloudFlow, a project management SaaS platform used by 800+ enterprise teams, faced a hard compliance deadline. Several of their largest customers required WCAG 2.2 AA compliance as a procurement condition, and a pending EU accessibility directive meant non-compliance would risk contract renewals worth seven figures annually. Their application had over 200 unique views across dashboards, settings, reporting, and collaboration features. A manual accessibility audit of even the highest-traffic views would have taken their three-person accessibility team an estimated six months.
Our Approach
CloudFlow deployed VertaaUX to run automated accessibility and usability audits across their entire application surface. The initial sweep covered all 200+ views in under two hours, producing a prioritized backlog of 1,847 individual findings grouped by severity, WCAG criterion, and affected component. The team used the component-level grouping to batch fixes: a single fix to their shared Button component, for example, resolved 94 individual findings across 67 views. They ran re-audits after each fix batch to verify resolution and track progress toward the compliance target.
The Results
CloudFlow reached full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance across all customer-facing views in eight weeks, well ahead of their contractual deadline. Of the 1,847 findings, 94% were resolved through component-level fixes that propagated across the application. The remaining 6% required view-specific attention for custom layouts and third-party widget integrations. The automated re-audit workflow meant the team never had to manually re-test fixed views, saving an estimated 120 hours of manual regression testing.
“We went from 'we have no idea where we stand on accessibility' to full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance in eight weeks. The component-level grouping was the breakthrough — one fix, dozens of views resolved.”
