Refund & Cancellation

1. Scope

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to paid subscriptions to VertaaUX (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Cancellation

2.1 Cancel anytime

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings (or by contacting support if you cannot access your account).

2.2 When cancellation takes effect

Unless otherwise stated at checkout, cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until your paid period ends.

2.3 No partial-month refunds by default

Because the Service is billed in advance and access is provided for the full billing period, we generally do not provide refunds or credits for partial months or unused time remaining in a billing cycle (except where required by law or explicitly stated in this policy).

3. Refunds

3.1 General rule

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a material Service failure, contact us at billing@vertaaux.ai within 14 days of the charge.

3.2 First-time purchase goodwill window (B2B and B2C)

For first-time paid purchases, we may offer a full refund within 14 days of the initial charge if the request is reasonable (for example: accidental upgrade, duplicate purchase, or the Service was not usable due to a verified technical issue).

3.3 Annual plans

For annual subscriptions, we generally do not provide refunds after 14 days from the initial charge, except where required by law. If we approve a refund, we may deduct the value of the time already provided (for example, converting usage to an equivalent monthly price for the elapsed period).

3.4 Non-refundable items

The following are typically non-refundable:

  • Taxes and bank/processor fees (where non-recoverable)
  • Charges older than 14 days (unless required by law)
  • Accounts terminated for policy violations (see Acceptable Use)

3.5 Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback without contacting us first, we may suspend your account while we investigate. Please contact billing support before filing a dispute so we can resolve it faster and with less overhead.

4. EU/EEA Consumers: Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you generally have the right to withdraw from an online contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

4.1 Digital services & early performance

For digital services, the withdrawal right can be lost once performance begins, but only if you (a) expressly request the service to start during the withdrawal period and (b) acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the service has begun.

4.2 What this means for VertaaUX

  • If you buy a subscription and you do not request immediate access/performance, you may withdraw within 14 days and receive a refund.
  • If you request immediate access and acknowledge loss of withdrawal rights at checkout, you may lose the right of withdrawal once the Service performance begins. In that case, refunds are only offered as described elsewhere in this policy (or where required by law).

5. How refunds are issued

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via our payment processor (Stripe). Processing times depend on your bank and typically take a few business days.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
